Miss Tolunay

Hello everybody ,

My name is Miss Tolunay. This is my first year at Açı Schools and my thirteenth year as an English teacher. I will teach the 8th grades this fall.

I am from İstanbul but I lived four years in Ankara while I was at college having my Bachelor’s of Arts in English with Honors. I am married and I have a daughter.

My career has taken me to a couple of schools and had me working with all ages and levels from elementary to advanced. Most of this time, though, I have spent working with high-schoolers. For me, teaching is a gift which gives me the opportunity to impart positively on people.

I love reading novels relating to English and American Literature, writing short stories and poems (both in English and Turkish), going to theatres and movies, trekking, organizing different social events, listening to music, traveling, I have several medals in swimming. I am also a certified surfer.
